CROSS-CULTURAL

Overground Arts Alliance conducts cross-cultural research and implements cross-pollination multi-disciplinary projects employing the methods of cultural anthropology and scientific research. The Alliance organizes cultural expeditions and spiritual journeys worldwide with the aim of retrieving the origins and common roots of various cultures and reinterpreting tradition as a tool for innovation and growth. For more than a decade Overground has launched numerous cross-cultural projects on an international scale and continues to think globally by organizing interfaith, cross-cultural and multidisciplinary events, forums and seminars advocating the need to shift from IDENTITY MULTICULTURALISM to ADAPTIVE MULTICULTURALISM, i.e. the yearning of many groups for their own traditions to be honoured with adaptive multiculturalism – an educational strategy that enhances everyone’s capacity to adapt by offering exposure to a variety of traditions. The concept of POLYPHONY of cultures reveals that the great symphony of human culture cannot be played on a one string, on a one single instrument. There is no such thing as a one season Vivaldi or a monochrom Renoar. It is a rainbow-bridge of concepts, beliefs, credos and awareness. Welcoming this symphony of colors, tones, vibrations we welcome the universe. We are walking the global heart. The OM projects teach us to think globally, not locally, to shift the consciousness from the love of power to the power of love. We are an expanded family carrying a grand synthesis into a fragmented world. The pursuit of deep ecology springs from the notion, that if mind and body are no longer separate, neither are culture and planet. A new synthesis has begun, deep polarities are recognizing each other as a larger unity.
